Abstract

Estimation of the accuracy of object internal-structure reconstruction in tomography and interferometry is discussed. It has been shown that, in addition to the experimental errors, one should take into consideration the size of the area in which small-scale inhomogeneities of the object structure are being averaged. General principles of the approach are illustrated by an example. The influence of refraction is discussed. A characteristic feature of papers devoted to the consideration of refraction is the application of the iteration method with a ray equation solution and a calculation of optical path length along curved probing rays. We have obtained the analytical expression for the refraction correction, which simplifies considerably the computation of the refractive index.
