Abstract

The Rayleigh–Sommerfeld and Fresnel solutions are compared for the case of on-axis diffraction from a circular aperture that is illuminated by a monochromatic spherical wave. The solutions are compared by modeling them as sinusoids and then comparing the parameters of the sinusoids.
