Abstract

The elastic process of intermodulation generation in multifrequency acousto-optic diffraction was analyzed in detail by using the Feynman diagram method. The complete perturbation solution, which can be further simplified into an analytical form, was obtained for the strains of various acoustic waves in an acousto-optic medium. This makes it possible to predict accurately the intermodulation products in multifrequency acousto-optic diffraction and to give the exact value of the critical acousto-optic interaction length above which the dynamic process is dominant.
